Shady Hollow Cub Scout Pack 82
Cub Scouting is more than just an activity. It’s adventure, learning, and discovery around every corner. From STEM to exploring the outdoors, your son or daughter will be on the path to discovering their very best “future self”- and they’ll have fun doing it!
Cub Scout Pack 82 is part of the Thunderbird District, which serves South Austin for the Capitol Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Pack 82 was first chartered in 1991, and our chartering organization is the Shady Hollow Homeowners Association. Our main recruiting location is Baranoff Elementary, but Pack 82 membership is open to any family, from any school, in any neighborhood.
Pack 82 membership generally consists of 80 to 100 boys and girls in grades Kindergarten through 5th. Our members get the benefits of being part of both the large pack and a small den. Each den ranges in size to include up to 8 boys or girls and arranges its own den meetings according to the schedules of all the den parents.
We conduct many events throughout the year, including several summertime activities! Some of our rotating regular events: Campouts, USS Lexington Live Aboard, NASA Camp-In, Parades, Pool Party, Blue & Gold Banquet, Pinewood Derby, Space Derby, Raingutter Regatta.
Our monthly Pack Meetings are typically on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Shady Hollow Community Center, 3303 Doe Run, from September thru May. We do not hold regular Pack Meetings during the summer, but we do keep scouting with fun events and activities.
Den meetings are scheduled by your assigned Den Leader(s). Please contact your assigned Den Leader for details on your Scout’s Den meetings, or contact us through this site if you do not know who your assigned Den Leader is.
Our Pack Committee provides oversight and support for pack programming, finances, and membership. Meetings are typically on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm, parents and interested guests are welcome and encouraged to attend!
