The meeting will begin at 7 sharp and end on time at 8:00 PM every month, though you’re welcome to stay on the call afterwards to converse with friends. Call it a Cracker Barrel if you like, but you’ll have to furnish the crackers until we can meet in person again.
You’ll learn all you need to know about what’s happening in Scouting locally.
As usual, Cub and Troop leaders will have short, separate training breakouts led by Jim Bateman and Trey Little, respectively.
We’ll quickly go over all you need to know about RECHARTERING, and even have an open-ended Q&A with people from the Council and District who can help walk you through the process step by step. They’ve agreed to stay on the call as long as you need them after the meeting. If you have questions you think others might be asking, too, feel free to email them IN ADVANCE to Jason Denny at firstname.lastname@example.org so he can prepare complete answers.
If you have any topics you’d like discussed at a future Roundtable, please email them to me at email@example.com .
Send us a video of your scouts leading the pledge, oath and law. Scouting BSA national has provided us with videos of scouts leading them, but we’d rather use local scouts. If you’d like, please record (as high quality as possible, please) one or more of your scouts leading one of the three, and we’ll play your unit’s video at Roundtable in the future instead of those provided nationally.
We hope to hold December’s Roundtable IN PERSON. Traditionally, the December meeting features Dutch Oven cooking, and this would be pointless in a virtual environment. Please start making plans now to have your scouts (or leaders) prepare a dish live at the meeting on Wednesday, December 2 to share with attendees. Most will have to arrive well before 7 to start your stoves/light your charcoal and have the food cooked and ready to serve by 7 PM. We’ll be sure to employ social distancing and appropriate safety protocols, of course. Details coming soon.
STARTING IN JANUARY, EACH ROUNDTABLE MEETING WILL FEATURE A SEGMENT (led by one of you) I CALL, “BEST SCOUTING OUTING EVER.” If you’d like to share the details of a unique or unusual activity you’ve done with your scouts in the past that others might want to duplicate for their own units, email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I’ll put you on the schedule to take up to 5 minutes at Roundtable to describe it.
